...Christmas is over.

So its the day after Christmas. We are still in Oregon, and our visit has been really relaxing...almost too relaxing. I feel like I need to get off my butt and DO SOMETHING! haha

I did a pretty good job holding back tears as I skyped and chatted with my twins. Christmas surely was "different" this year. Different doesnt always mean a bad thing...just different. I told my kids that Christmas will never be the same for me again after this year...it will be better.

I have completed the tops to another pair of slippers to send to the troops. They will have felted wool from a sweater for the soles. They are fast and fun to make for the women in Kaylas company. I have also adopted another soldier to send gifts to. I heard about a young man not getting anything from home and I just cant handle that. No im not made of money but will enjoy sending boxes to 3 now instead of 2. I have already brainstormed the letter I will write him with his first box. He is stationed where my daughter is, and of course is in the same company.

Today I will post our family photo...some are missing but its also taken to share with them over there.

More on the Garage...

My favorite picture of the garage right now is when there is fresh fallen show. The color we chose makes it "pop" and very photogenic...at least "I" think so. Right before the snow fell Steve put a new roof on the lower garage as we call it. Now everything is staying nice and dry inside.

Going overboard......

Today I am going to post a few photos of our little Garage at Lead. Focusing before and after the painting. This structure is a complete "feel good" project. There arent many straight walls, the ceiling is low(poor Steve), and the steps are crooked. It reminds me of my Grandpa, and I know my Mom would agree!

I've decided........

...to change things a little here. I need to get better at updating my pictures. I have many new ones, which shows alot of changes to our not so little place. But also I enjoy our down time there doing what I love to do such as my various fiber arts, sitting by the fire outside, 4-wheeling, skiing, and just enjoying the "feel" of our little historic town.

I need a place to ramble on, and since nobody reads this I will vent, and write about whatever I feel like.

Our twins went to Afghanistan in September with the National Guard. We are very proud of them but the length of time for them to be away will become agonizing. Their 2 weeks leave will help alot! One is coming home in February, the other in March. I can't wait, but already know it will be hard when they leave again. Thank God for facebook!

My focus and thoughts are scrambled right now. But if someone just "happens" to "pop" in here, I have decided I will put pictures at random...not just focusing on our "Cottage" but just what feels right on that particular day. I think the writing, and posting will be a great outlet for me.

Today I am posting a picture of my "Twins". As I said, it feels right for today. I miss them very much!
